Sunshine Coast’s First Teaching Micro Distillery Launches Two New World First Gins

Based in Cooroy, Botanik Spirit School is the Sunshine Coast’s first teaching micro distillery. We are excited to announce that we have just released 2 new ‘world first’ Gins.

A WORLD FIRST – SPECULOOS & BAKLAVA GINS

Botanik Spirit School and Distillery is excited to announce the launch of two world first Gin flavours – Speculoos Gin and Baklava Gin. Created with aromatic spices reminiscent of warm holiday baking, mulled cider and their famed dessert namesakes. Described as slightly sweet and beautifully spiced, these two new Gins are making their debut for World Gin Day on the 11th of June.

There are now more distilleries across the world than ever before. With thousands of Gins on the market globally, Colleen Walters, Botanik’s Head Distiller and botanical expert wanted to create something completely unique. “Being in the spice industry for 15 years, my first public releases had to be an expression of food and drink pairing, which is how Baklava and Speculoos Gins came about,” explains Walters. “Both of these Gins pair beautifully with food. They complement and highlight sweet spices, honey and citrus notes. With
our in depth research, we have not found another bottled Gin in these two flavours globally.”

Created by perfectly balancing a unique blend of 12 hand-selected botanicals from around the world, these new Gins will appeal to both a wide range of consumers and those eager to experiment with new flavour profiles and botanical aromas.

Botanik Spirit School and Distillery are located in Cooroy, the heart of the Noosa Hinterland. They are the first teaching micro distillery on the Sunshine Coast, running Distiller Masterclasses every Saturday for spirit lovers who want to create their own exclusive Gin or Vodka. Walters also mentions, “The School has created 12 additional Gins that our students enjoy during our classes and have exclaimed are their
favourite gins ever! These exciting 12 Gins will also be released for sale for the general public in June!”.

Gin lovers can expect Botanik’s Gins to stay true to their commitment for unique, full-flavoured and balanced blends using only the finest ingredients. “Fantastic balance of nuanced botanical influence across aroma, palate and finish – a sensory journey. A delight in cocktails!”
, Steve Magarry, CEO, Sydney Rum Distillery.
