Halloween is Monday, October 31, and it is becoming more and more popular on the Sunshine Coast.

Police are wanting young and old trick or treaters to be safe whilst out and about.

The Queensland Police Service (QPS) have launched a new video game called ‘Lolly Quest 2022’ which can be downloaded from the Apple App store. You can also play the game here.

The game was created to help educate our little trick or treaters on how to practice safety on Halloween but is enjoyable for all ages.

It is important to stay safe, so we are wanting our young ‘trick or treaters’ to:

  • Be accompanied by a trusted, responsible adult monster at all times
  • Always walk, not run and stick to the footpath and not the road
  • Never enter a stranger’s house even if they have invited you in after knocking on the door
  • Consider trick or treating with friends and go in groups – safety in numbers
  • Do not leave it until late at night
  • Only knock-on doors that only display a Halloween invitation

Parents are invited to play the game as well. So, Mums and dads, if you are experiencing any trouble playing the game it is recommended to ask your children for instructions and tips on how to play.

You are able to download Halloween posters on this page and display them somewhere near your front door.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
