Sunshine Coast charity Bloomhill Cancer Care is thrilled to invite the community and their four legged friends to participate in A Bloomin’ Good Walk, a special event on Saturday 18 May 2024, 2pm-6pm.

This event promises an afternoon of wellness, community spirit, all while raising essential funds and awareness for those impacted by cancer.

General Manager, Holly Hale, said “A Bloomin’ Good Walk is a meaningful and fun event, which has been carefully designed to promote involvement for all ages and abilities across the community. Starting from Cooper’s Lookout Park in Buddina, the walk will lead participants to the iconic Point Cartwright Lighthouse, offering four different walk options ranging from 200m to 5km return, for maximum inclusivity.”

“We invite everyone to join us for A Bloomin’ Good Walk, whether you’re a seasoned walker, just getting started or simply looking for a fun afternoon out with friends, family and likeminded locals. By participating, you’re helping us to promote health and wellness in our community and making a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. We are aiming to raise more than $50,000, funds which will directly contribute to Bloomhill nursing and therapeutic services, providing personalised support to those navigating the cancer journey.”

“As well as raising funds, we want to use this opportunity to share the extensive range of support Bloomhill provides. Our support is strength through the dark days and celebration on the good days.

Uniquely, Bloomhill supports those diagnosed, as well as family members, carers and bereaved when they need us most.”

The event is limited to 500 people and the first 300 people will receive a free Bloomhill cap while the first 50 people to register their dogs will receive a Bloomhill doggie bandana. For those not available on the day, participants can also register to do the event in their own time, with unlimited virtual attendance available.

In addition to the walk itself, participants can expect light-hearted entertainment including a live band, a community BBQ sponsored by IGA Wises Road, as well as roving fun and face painting.

“It’s going to be a great day and we are really excited to bring this event to the community. We encourage local businesses who would like to get involved as an event sponsor to contact us,” Holly said.

A family of four can register for $80 while individual adult tickets are $35, children $15 and $10 for dogs, for more information or to register please visit:
