
NATUREART LAB: THE ART OF BIRD PHOTOGRAPHY
Learn how to capture those special moments and create beautiful images of birds with award-winning nature photographer Danny McCreadie.
Over a weekend in June you will learn the techniques to improve the use your camera for better bird photography. The classes cover everything from camera equipment, managing difficult light conditions, lenses, focusing techniques, composition, bird behavior, common mistakes, trip planning and digital editing. This course includes hands on practical exercises and a field trip to apply techniques learnt in the classes.
The course will be held at the Rainforest Discovery Centre at the Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve, near Maleny, Queensland. Mary Cairncross comprises of 55 hectares of subtropical rainforest. In addition to the Rainforest Discovery Centre the reserve boasts a café which has views across the Glass House Mountains landscape. On the second day of the course, we will visit the rainforest which is an ideal location to test your newly acquired photography skills. The rainforest bird list includes Noisy Pittas, Paradise Riflebird, Rufous Fantails and Yellow Throated Scrubwrens.
