Australian Blues Legend Andy Cowan Returns to Maroochydore for Soulful Sunday Session
The Jazz & Blues Collective proudly presents acclaimed Australian blues artist Andy Cowan live in concert on Sunday, 7 June 2026 at the Millwell Road Community Centre.
A fixture on the Australian music scene for more than five decades, Andy Cowan is widely regarded as one of the country’s finest live performers. Renowned for his earthy, emotionally charged vocals and masterful piano playing, Cowan blends blues, soul and R&B within an acoustic jazz framework, creating performances that are both powerful and deeply intimate.
Throughout his distinguished career, Cowan has received a Blues Album of the Year award for One of These Days, earned an ARIA nomination for 10.30 Thursdays, and represented Australia at the International Blues Convention in Memphis. He has recorded nine studio albums and performed on the soundtrack of the Australian cult film Stone.
In earlier decades, he toured and recorded with some of Australia’s most iconic artists, including Madder Lake, Ayers Rock, Kevin Borich, Ian Moss and Renée Geyer.
Now based in the Noosa Hinterland, Cowan continues to captivate audiences with authenticity, artistry and a deep connection to the blues tradition. His Maroochydore performance will feature selections from his latest album, Undercover — a collection of classic interpretations from some of the great songwriters of blues, jazz, soul and rock, delivered with Cowan’s unmistakable depth and soul.
Joining Andy on stage will be:
- Christian Dunham – bass
- Duncan MacQueen – drums
- Special guest Ric Halstead – saxophone
Described as “Simply superb” (Sunday Herald Sun) and “Pure class” (Rhythms Magazine), Andy Cowan’s return to the Sunshine Coast promises an afternoon of world-class musicianship and heartfelt performance.
