Eumundi’s Boutique Art Hotel HOLA Celebrates 12 Months

Within the HOLA Suite - with a glimpse of the incredible work of Kuran Warun, one of Australia's premier Aboriginal artists

It’s one year since the doors opened at HOLA, Eumundi’s boutique hotel accommodation that celebrates the talent of local Sunshine Coast artists.

Head Honcho at HOLA Nicky Thomas says the team are proud to have welcomed guests from far and wide to the 15-room accommodation escape that is ‘HOLA’, an acronym for ‘House of Local Art’.

“It’s been an exciting first year for us, with guests from all corners of the country and the globe discovering us – all keen to soak up the beauty of the Sunshine Coast hinterland, and immerse themselves in the village renowned for creativity and that relaxed Eumundi vibe,” says Nicky.

“It’s been a pleasure to have looked after guests from all states and territories, many New Zealanders, and as far afield as Portugal, the USA and South Africa  – with a clear increase in international guests in more recent months, “Nicky says.

“It’s great to see so many South East Queenslanders joining us for a mini break – an easy drive getaway for many – and especially lovely to welcome local Sunny Coasters treating themselves to a “staycation”,” she says.

The room décor and styling is contemporary chic with a Eumundi laid-back spirit (authentic timber furniture, natural linen soft furnishings, bamboo and cotton throws) but It’s the creative groove and artworks that make HOLA a truly memorable accommodation space.

Each room is home to its own collection of original local art – canvases on the walls, handmade basins in the bathrooms, ceramics on the benches, even quirky hand-made ‘do not disturb’ signs, alongside sculptures in the gardens and around the hotel.

There are some 45 original artworks hanging on the walls of the hotel, more than 100 individual ceramic pieces and 13 sculptures and installations.

“Being able to showcase the work of local artists is what we’re all about,” Nicky says. “We get a huge buzz from sharing artist and gallery contacts with guests keen to discover more or commission pieces for themselves”.

The hotel is positioned perfectly to soak up the very best Eumundi has to offer, next door to the iconic Imperial Hotel, Eumundi Distillers and Eumundi Brewery and across from the world-famous Eumundi Markets.

Some examples of guest feedback:

Decor and amenities are high quality, and the little touches, extras and inclusions make the whole place so marvellous. I loved the furnishings, decor, and very good bathroom products/linen.

We were blown away at how good it was. It is 5-star luxury, not like the big hotel chains that are all a bit the same, but rather in a unique and very personal way. Everything is new and of high quality and there is interesting art around the building and in the rooms.

Fabulous art inspired rooms with comfortable bed and immaculately clean facilities. Loved the complimentary goodies – we will recommend to friends and be back for another stay.
