Business Spotlight with Melissa Williams from Point Care


I have lived on the Sunshine Coast for over 10 years, and I have also lived in the UK. I have qualifications in Health and Social Care, Child Psychology, Advanced Counselling, Child Counselling, Mental Health and Young People and Child Safeguarding. I have worked with children and youth for over 25 years who have learning disabilities, Autism and Down Syndrome.

Point Care is a Registered NDIS Provider on the Sunshine Coast providing services in Queensland as well as NSW. Our staff are trained, with a mix of different cultural backgrounds, ages, gender, and a wealth of experience. We specialise in both Low and High care needs clients of all age groups.

Point Care started on the Sunshine Coast on the 30th of September 2022 and is located at 8/108 Currie Street Nambour 4560. The company started a year ago and the Head office is located in Rockhampton. The owners are Moses Okedare who is a Registered Nurse and Jennifer Okedare who works in Allied Health.

Point Care also has offices in Bundaberg, Townsville, Mackay, Cairns, Hervey Bay and Toowoomba.

What do you enjoy most about your industry?

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew I always wanted to work with children and youth. I really enjoy helping them achieve their goals, thrive and have the best quality of life possible.

Favourite place to eat on the Sunshine Coast?

My favourite place to eat on the Sunshine Coast is Amici in Caloundra, the food and cocktails are so good, and the owner is so lovely.

Favourite place to visit on the Sunshine Coast?

My favourite place to visit is the Eumundi Markets, there is great local and international food and wonderful handmade crafts and furniture.

What do you enjoy doing on the weekends?

Hanging out with my family making homemade pizza and catching up with friends and going to the gym.
